Re: Anarchist Salon, Dinner, & Movie

THE WOLFI LANDSTREICHER PIECE IS SHORT AND WILL BE READ OUT LOUD AT THE DISCUSSION. NO NEED TO PREPARE BEFORE HAND.

Re: Anarchist Salon, Dinner, & Movie

Some of these charges are from Chase bank arrests, Courtland Street, and other Occupy related arrests.

Anarchists became stronger through the occupy movement, as opposed to so many other groups who squandered the opportunity or lost all momentum when the movement died. If we want to continue growing, the practice of material support and solidarity is an absolute priority.

There will be literature, posters, prints, and potentially shirts all designed and produced by anarchists for donation at this event. It's not about fulfilling a duty to some pathetic cause. We should all recognize that these arrestees could have been us and some day they will be us. Our struggle is the same and it is in the material continuation of the collective and individual revolt that brings us to support one another.

Re: Anarchist Salon, Dinner, & Movie

I think that "no one will be turned away" coming right after the request for donations was aimed at making it clear that although there is a request for donations from everyone, not donating doesn't mean you don't get in. Not that whoever shows up and does whatever will be welcomed.

Re: Anarchist Salon, Dinner, & Movie

No event is safe and welcome to all. racist, sexist, homophobic, ableist etc behavior will not be tolerated. Police and nazis are not welcome. Other than that, its a fundraiser; try to not let social baggage keep you from coming.

Re: Anarchist Salon, Dinner, & Movie

Saying "No one will be turned away" doesn't mean that all can feel safe and welcome.
