Anarchist Discussion Group: Social Centers + Radical Spaces

Date/Time:
Sun, 06/09/2013 - 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Location:
Park ABOVE Decatur Marta Station
400 Church Street
Decatur, GA
United States

Hey y'all,

At the last Anarchist Reading Group we decided to expand our group into a "reading group" and a "discussion group" alternating between the two as needed. Not everything we want to discuss can be found in a book after all.

This week we decided to have a discussion about the usefulness of space to Anarchists. Specifically, what use would the Atlanta Social Center have? More generally, what do other spaces offer radicals such as Occupy Atlanta? Are they revolutionary? Can we make them so?

New location: Its the park literally ABOVE the Decatur Marta Station. Its across the street from Java Monkey, diagonal to the left. We will have the event at Java Monkey if it rains. Look for the people in black.

Hope to see you there!

May I suggest coming to the "Stand with Jaye" cookout before this discussion group.  The Warehouse Lofts, 206 Rogers St. NE. Studio 203,  30317 - Kirkwood  (2:00 to 6:00).  She supports many actions, is a home defender, and is in need of support in her current home defense campaign HAPPENING NOW.  Her brave campaign is a great opportunity to elevate tenant rights in Georgia.  She and her 8 year old daughter are in danger of displacement.  She is a personal trainer with live-work fitness studio.  If she loses her home, she also loses her job and means of providing for her family. Let's rally behind her as she stands up to the unjust power system and a bully landlord.  Contact Jaye Crawford at 404.378.5775 or friend her on Facebook.
