Valentine's Day Noise Demo
Join us for our second annual Valentine's Day noise demonstration!
We will meet at Woodruff Park and march to Atlanta City Detention Center to make noise for the prisoners locked inside.
Prisons are a central apparatus of today's authoritarian society: where domination, white supremacy, and hetero-patriarchy are made explicit. A growing portion of our society are being forced to understand life under incarceration via probation, parole, and actual imprisonment. The surveillance and policing necessary to maintain this perpetual growth have dissolved our privacy and atrophied our collective capacity to take care of ourselves.
Please bring noise makers, boom boxes, pots and pans, drums, whistles and whatever else you can come up with to help break down the isolation.
