Calling all anarchists and the anarcha-curious,
It's time once again for our quarterly Anarchist Assembly which will be held on Saturday June 2nd at Troy Davis Park.

March 3 anarchist assembly notes

On Saturday, March 3 ~40 anarchists gathered for an anarchist assembly at a local house. People met up at 5pm and shared food and casual conversation before beginning the assembly. There was roughly an hour of collective discussion, mostly taking the form of announcements.

The next assembly will probably be a few months from now and will probably happen every quarter instead of every month so that more people can come and more meaningful discussions can happen.

  • Food Not Bombs has been serving at Troy Davis for a month. There has been mild police harassment by police and ambassador forces which is expected to continue. FNB meets every Sunday at 11AM at 80 Mayson Ave to cook and serves at Troy Davis (formerly Woodruff) Park around 2PM.

Reportback on An Ⓐnarchist General Assembly

Anarchists and friends in Atlanta convened for the city’s first anarchist assembly tonight. Over 60 people attended, with some coming from as far as Douglasville. Food, a bonfire, and good conversation made for a great night.

The following call for the event went out on Indymedia and Facebook a week ago:

First Night of Occupation of Atlanta

Update from Occupy Atlanta: those remaining after the general assembly had ended (in a bit of a fizzle) have chosen by consesus to remain and begin the occupation of Woodruff Park. Atk this time no violence has ensued and it appears no there is little to no opposition or harrasmenr by police at this time. If you wish to join the opposition, there is no parking, but you can take Marta to Five Points Station and head towards Woodruff Park. Bring blankets and the like and something for breakfast.

Power to the people,
Georgia Slim
