May 9th, 2012 was the day of the Bank of America shareholders meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina. Between 800 to 1000 people who have been affected by the policies of Bank of America choose to also attend this meeting, but in the streets outside the world headquarters of the Bank. Bank of America is the 5th largest corporation in America. It has foreclosed on more families than any other bank, and is the top investor in coal extraction through mountain top removal, which contributes to global warming/climate change. They invest in prisons, nuclear weapons and other weapons of war, and threaten American democracy itself with their support of anti worker/citizen groups like ALEC and the Financial Services Roundtable which lobby against any form of consumer protection or banking regulations.

One week after Chris Frazer and her family was evicted, at 3:00 a.m., at gun point, by DeKalb Co. Sheriff Deputy's, supporters rallied at the Head Quarters of DeKalb County Sheriff, Thomas Brown. About 50 people from groups including local clergy, Occupy Atlanta, Peace and Justice groups, Anti Foreclosure groups, local politicians, and Occupy The Hood, stood along Memorial Dr. in Decatur, Ga. demanding justice for the Frazer family and an end to "Midnight Evictions". About half way through the rally, a van drove up and protesters dumped some of the many belongings of the Frazer family on the door step of Sheriff Brown. These were the same items that had been tossed into the street a week earlier. There was one arrest and one person ticketed for littering. This video report runs 23 minutes.

At 3:00 AM on May 2nd, 2012, between 20 and 25 DeKalb County deputy's raided a home in a quite neighborhood in South East DeKalb County. Was it a raid on a major drug dealer? Was it a manhunt for a wanted felon? Or was this the location of a local criminal gang? No no and no. It was the home of 63 year old Chris Frazer, her 83 year old mother, her daughter and 4 year old grandson. DeKalb County Sheriff Deputy's had arrived at 3:00 AM to evict this family from the home they had lived in for over 15 years. Even though Ms. Frazer had a lawsuit in federal court alleging fraud against Investors One Corp., the company claiming to hold her mortgage, none of that mattered. Someone had convinced a judge to sign eviction papers, and the Frazer family was being put out.

Meet Ms. Chris Frazer. Ms. Frazer has paid the mortgage on her home for 15 years. But when she lost her job, and couldn't find another one in a stagnant economy, she started to fall behind in her payments. Now, like millions of other struggling American's, Ms. Frazer is facing foreclosure and eviction. But her case isn't that clear cut. Because her mortgage and title has been bundled and sold, and re-sold, it's hard to determine who owns the mortgage, and if the foreclosure is even legal. That's when she reached out to Occupy Atlanta, who is now helping her stop this foreclosure from moving forward. This film gives Ms. Frazer a chance to tell her story in her own words, a story that is all to common across the U.S. It runs 29 minutes.

The Pittman Family vs Chase Bank-Round 3

This is the latest update in the battle between the Pittman family and Chase Bank.  After many attempts at negotiating, the bank has refused to budge.  Chase is still demanding the Pittman family pay $400,000 for their home which is now worth $100,000., or get out.  Both options are unacceptable to both the Pittman's and Occupy Atlanta, whose members have lived in the Pittmans front yard since Dec. 6th of 2011.  What Eloise Pittman got when she refinanced her home in 2006 was a classic predatory loan, a loan Chase Bank knew she could never pay pack.  The loan was really designed to siphon off Ms. Pittman's savings, retirement money, and eventually her home.  Chase Banks loan was more like a money vacuum sucking up Ms. Pitman's life savings and sending it to Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.
