Collective Resistance

By David Roberts - one of the first 10 original members of the Georgia prison hunger strikers, currently captive in Jackson Prison.

We have now seen it on the news...Atlanta police attacked a man for "asking some questions!?"  They pepper sprayed the man and beat him, then 7 or 8 of them jumped on him and handcuffed him.  Looked exactly like another Rodney King thing to me!

Luckily an unafraid brother had his cell phone handy and videotaped the whole incident.  This happened a couple of weeks ago and hopefully the man's friends have retained a good attorney for him and with the videotape evidence, he should be back out there and waiting for his day in court with a lawsuit pending and some of those that beat him fired!

A slap in the face

David Roberts was one of the first 10 original members of the Georgia prison hunger strikes.

"I would love to hear from you!  I'm in prison, but you can write me at:

Or, you can email davidroberts@riseup.net and the message will be relayed to me. I can write you back the same way!  Or on Facebook "

Banner Drop in Solidarity With the PNW

238 Early this morning we dropped a banner over Freedom Parkway in Atlanta that read: FOR THE SILENT ONES <3, fuck grand juries @. We did this to show our love for those in the Pacific Northwest who are resisting the grand jury subpeonas there. May the revolt continue to spread in spite of repression by the state. Solidarity with all who rebel.

On Trayvon Martin

The story is by now a familiar one. A young black male has been gunned down in cold blood by a person in a position of authority. It seems like a fresh outrage like this happens almost every week.  And yet nothing changes, despite the numbers that swell the sidewalks at rallies denouncing the murders. Cries for justice ring out from every corner of the city, the state, the country, even the world. And yet the murders continue unabated. Each time the tragedy rips at our hearts, opening old wounds over the lives of those lost before, while carving new ones as details of the killing come out.
