hangout to reclaim public space

Date/Time:
Fri, 09/14/2012 - 8:00pm
Location:
Near Fox Theater
Ponce De Leon Ave & Peachtree St NE
Atlanta, GA
United States

The rich in Atlanta want to make poverty invisible downtown.  They want poor people, black people, the homeless, and anyone else they deem "unsightly" to feel unwelcome in the heart of Atlanta.  We can resist their racist, anti-poor agenda.  It's easy: just hang out where they don't want us to!

Send a message to the Atlanta elite: Downtown belongs to the people, we'll hang out where we want!
Friday, Sept. 14th, 2012 8pm
Near Fox Theater (Ponce De Leon Ave & Peachtree St NE)

This is a protest, but mostly it's a fun gathering that will make rich snobs uncomfortable.  So come ready to enjoy yourself!
Ideas for what to bring:  Friends, boom-boxes, noise-makers, food and drink to share, tables and stuff to sit on, checkers and playing cards, signs and literature about class war/panhandling/etc.

Make downtown a welcoming place for "unsightly" people!
